My own little miracle!

Ok, first of all, this may sound really ridiculous to everyone else, but it's my own little miracle. When I was 13 years old I went to Jefferson, TX with my family and saw an antique wrought iron crib and fell in love. I said that day that that's what I wanted in my nursery one day. Every since then I've looked and looked, pricing every one that I came across. About 2 years ago I found one for $500 and that was the cheapest one I'd ever seen, so I sadly gave up.

When we found out we were going to have a baby I started doing some shopping for furniture. The more I shopped the more depressed I got. Do we buy stuff that will last forever, but costs a lot? Do we just buy a bunch of mismatched stuff? Do we buy inexpensive stuff that won't last very long? I was getting really frustrated. I really wanted the pieces to at least look nice together and not look like a bad thrift store.

Well, Friday after work Dan and I decided to get out and go thrift shopping for fun. We walked in one of my favorite places and found my dream. It was an old wrought iron crib for $100!!!! I haven't been this excited about a thrift store find in a LONG time!

Sooooo, right now you need a tetanus shot just looking at it, so it's going to take a little work. But I'm so freaking psyched! Isn't it precious! And the same day I found an old dresser that will work great for a changing table. Now all we're looking for is an old armoire. Canton, TX here I come!! :)

Ok, the khaki color is cheap paint from walmart. The color is ottertail and I'm almost positive it's the walmart brand. We've used it in several rooms. Although, we are going to repaint the nursery.
